wide angle lenses

The photographer has used a wide angle lens to capture the full width of the baseball field. The wide angle lens has a slight curvature which bends the image to get all of stadium in one picture. The wide angle lens is very effective when a lot of subjects need to me in the picture or the subject is very wide.

KTA 1 research of photography

examples of leading lines in photography

aperture- the size of the opening in the lens varying the amount of light being exposed onto the the sensor.
depth of field- the distance between the foreground and the background.
framing-using surrounding objects to frame the subject of the image
exposure- the amount of light taken in by the sensor creating the image. if the exposure is too shot the shot will be dark in comparison if it is exposed for too long the image will become too light.
composition- the arrangement of the subjects in the picture.

The bridge is a leading line in the photograph directing the viewers attention to the sunset horizon.

the double yellow lines are directly in the centre of the image giving a focus point in which the rest of the image is built around. the lines are also not in black and white so the attention is directed initially to the leading lines.

the leading line in this photograph is the road which leads in to the horizon. the road also leads to the main point of the image which is the rocks in the background. so the road is the leading line to the main feature focusing the attention of the viewer.

rule of thirds in photography

in the image it is split up in to sectors in which certain things occur. For in the image above all the main focus points of the image in the right sectors and two of the four focus points are on the legs and head of the insect.
